Our Founding Story

Canvas Academy was founded in 2015 by a group of practicing artists who recognized a gap in systematic art education. Starting with just a handful of students in a small rented space, the school focused on building a curriculum that balanced technical fundamentals with creative exploration. Word spread quickly, and within a year, the classes were full. The founders expanded the program, hired additional instructors, and moved to a larger facility. This early growth was driven by a commitment to process-oriented learning, where each student's individual pace and style were respected. The foundation was set for what would become a vibrant creative community.

The Turning Point

In 2018, Canvas Academy launched its first public exhibition, showcasing student work alongside faculty pieces. This event marked a shift from being a teaching space to becoming a cultural hub. Local artists began using the studio for workshops, and partnerships with community organizations followed. The school's role expanded beyond instruction to fostering dialogue and collaboration among creatives.

Today's Canvas Academy

Today, Canvas Academy operates from a dedicated three-story building in the heart of the city. It houses multiple studios, a gallery, and a lounge for students and visiting artists. The school offers structured courses in drawing, watercolor, and oil painting, as well as open studio sessions and guest lectures. Our faculty includes award-winning artists who bring real-world experience into the classroom. Canvas Academy has become a recognized hub for creative learning, where the journey of each artist is supported through methodical instruction and collaborative exchange. We continue to evolve, guided by the same principles that started it all.
